Actions & events happening soon

  • Feb. 3, 2026, our 2026 precinct caucuses, step 1 in voting early & often. Plan for Tuesday, February 3 at 7pm. There will be 2 locations.

    • SD51A (Richfield & Minneapolis): Richfield Middle School, 7461 Oliver Ave S, Richfield, MN 55423

    • SD51B (Bloomington): Kennedy High School, 9701 Nicollet Ave. S. Bloomington, MN 55420

    • Resolutions for the DFL Platform and Action Agenda are also welcome at your precinct caucus. No limit on how many you can bring or your caucus can pass. The form to complete is here: https://dfl.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/2026-MN-DFL-Resolution-Form.pdf

    • Plan ahead for the SD51 District DFL convention on Sat., April 11th, at Kennedy High School. Our wonderful current Senator Melissa Wiklund is not running again, so we’ll be voting on a new Democrat to endorse. She hasn’t announced for Governor, but you can ask. We’ll be electing endorsing-state-delegates and voting on additions to our platform too.

  • Never use Elon Musk's X (formerly known as Twitter) again. That doesn't mean delete your profile; keep it as a free public billboard (although you should remove the app if it's installed and make sure you still have your password so you can login and notify followers how to keep following you). Join and follow us on BlueSky: https://bsky.app/profile/sd51dfl.bsky.social

  • Sadly, every day now, keep your eyes, cameras, and smartphones out for ICE. Remember, they are not police, the Minnesota National Guard, Hennepin County Sheriffs, or State Troopers. You can and should call 911 if you see them and report them as fake police disguising themselves and looking to damage or loot properties, or worse. Our DFL Hennepin Attorney Mary Moriarty also welcomes and responds to reports.

Your Neighbors. Your DFL.

Get Involved

Tired of sitting on the sidelines? Ready to get active? Join the SD51 DFL as a volunteer, stop by one of our monthly meetings, or get involved in the decision-making process and apply to be a director. Our meetings are held monthly and are open to the public.

You can also help us by donating. We use these funds for voter outreach, issues engagement, and to support electing DFL candidates. With the Minnesota Political Contribution Fund (PCF), you can be reimbursed for your donation (up to $75 per individual, $150 per couple) - so direct your state funds to your Senate district!

Volunteer opportunities

There are lots of ways to get involved with SD51 DFL activities and programs. We meet monthly, host outreach and fundraising activities and support local events like Bloomington Heritage Days, PennFest and the Woodlake Urban Wildlife Half Marathon and 5K. We have a great time too! Join us!

Make a Donation

Making a donation to the SD51DFL ensures that your dollars don’t just go to a single candidate or cause, but to progressive candidates up and down the ticket, training programs for potential candidates and staff, and more. No lobbyists, no PACs, just your and your neighbor’s hard-earned money going directly to progressives and progressive causes.
