2026 Pre-Convention Committee Meetings

Initiall/start-up meetings for all of our pre-convention committees this Sunday, February 15 at 3:30pm.

If you signed up to be on a committee, you’ll have an email with the location and additional details, search your email for SD51. Unlike Precinct Caucuses and conventions, this is only for the people who signed up.
This is where you’ll meet your committee and learn about the work. If you agreed to show up, but didn’t commit to a specific committee, here’s a quick description of them:

Credentials Committee
Prepares delegate and alternate sign-in materials and manages credentials on convention day, including sign-in, reporting, and alternate upgrades. Time commitment: 2–3 meetings / ~8–10 hours.

Nominations Committee
Identifies, interviews, and recommends candidates for director and State Central Committee positions, and manages the screening process. Note: Individuals seeking nomination may not serve on this committee. Time commitment: 4–5 meetings / ~10–15 hours.

Constitution & Bylaws Committee
Reviews the unit Constitution and Bylaws and proposes any updates for consideration and vote at the convention. Time commitment: 2–3 meetings / ~8–10 hours.

Arrangements Committee
Plans and coordinates convention logistics, including venue setup, accessibility, A/V, signage, food, and campaign tables; members should plan to arrive early on convention day. Time commitment: 2–3 meetings / ~8–10 hours.

Resolutions Committee
Reviews resolutions passed at precinct caucuses and prepares the final list for consideration at the Senate District Convention, forwarding adopted resolutions to the next level. Time commitment: 2–3 meetings / ~10–15 hours.

Convention Rules Committee
Drafts the rules governing convention procedures, using prior rules as a baseline to ensure a fair, efficient, and orderly convention. Time commitment: 2–3 meetings / ~8–10 hours.
