SD50DFL Fall Events Draw Crowds and Candidates

The SD50 DFL has a renewed focus on engaging its current members while trying to reach out into our community and strengthen the bonds with our neighbors. What better way to do that than with brunch, brats, and beer?

Not one, but two events highlighted this celebration of community, as we wind down 2019 and get prepared and energized for 2020.

The first annual “Brunch in the Park” brought neighbors from all over the district to Bloomington’s Moir Park for a gorgeous late-summer’s day of festivities. The pavilion was packed with kids playing games, heated debates on Democratic candidates for President, egg bake and hashbrowns (and healthier options as well, but… mmmmm cheesy potatoes…), and a whole lot of laughter and fun. Once the sun came out there was even time for a few lawn games!

 
 

Just a month or so later, as the sun started to get noticeably lower on the horizon and set a little earlier, it was time for the triumphant return of SD50’s Oktoberfest!

The party room at Lake Shore Condominiums in Richfield was packed for hours as we all joined together to eat, drink, and be merry! The Twins might have lost, but it didn’t do much to dampen the spirits of the gathering. Brats, beer, homemade sauerkraut and pumpkin bread, more heated debates about Democratic presidential candidates (although the “Anyone but Trump” column in the straw poll was the clear winner), and
